General Counsel
Prior to joining MELE, Ms. Murakami practiced law at a government contracts law firm representing small to mid-size government contractors and other commercial businesses where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions for small business contractors. She has expertise advising on regulatory compliance matters including corporate restructuring and development of strategic solutions to remain compliant with the FAR and the U.S. Small Business Administration’s regulations relating to its socio-economic set-aside programs. In addition to advising on corporate matters, Ms. Murakami also provides MELE with legal counsel on commercial lending and intellectual property rights relating to trademarks, trade secrets and licensing.
Ms. Murakami’s legal career began as a municipal bond lawyer at a global law firm and included one year of international law practice in Tokyo at the fourth largest law firm in Japan at that time. She graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned her JD degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Ms. Murakami is licensed to practice law in Maryland, New York, and the District of Columbia.
