Here’s a teaser–just say no to meatballs. Enjoy!

What is your current role at MELE and what did you do prior to joining the company?

I am the Talent Acquisition Coordinator here at MELE. I help with sourcing, interviewing, scheduling, and other projects like creating guides and training materials for managing our job postings. I also assist other departments with special projects. Currently I’m working with our contracts department to audit files to make for an easy transition to new software. I love to be booked and busy! Prior to working at MELE I worked for a biopharma company as an Associate Talent Partner.

What is your favorite part about working at MELE headquarters?

My favorite part of working at MELE is getting to know my coworkers and hanging out during the monthly luncheons.

What is the oddest or most surprising thing a job candidate has done while interviewing for a job at MELE?

The strangest thing a person did while interviewing for a job at MELE is tell me that they didn’t particularly care what the company did as long as they got paid.

What are a few dos and don’ts that a job candidate should keep in mind during the interview process?

DON’T ask if the company holiday party has an open bar.

DO come prepared with questions that may be pertinent to the role or to the company.

DON’T Facetime a friend midway through to have them explain a question to you.

DO be honest about your experience! Not everyone has everything and that isn’t always a deal breaker.

DON’T eat a meatball sub while interviewing.

DO ask about benefits and then assess if the position would be best for you and your family.

When you have time to yourself, what is your favorite hobby and why?

My favorite hobby is reading. I read everything from dystopian government novels, to fanfiction, to romance and fantasy. My tried and true is the Harry Potter series. I re-read it once a year over the holidays. While I can appreciate a movie adaptation, my brain can make better movies than Hollywood ever could.
