30 Years of Excellence & Counting: MELE’s History
MELE is a privately held, veteran and minority-owned federal contractor that began operating in 1993 with three employees. MELE was founded by Eleanor “Eli” Chiogioji as an 8(a) Minority- and Women-Owned Small Business. By the early 2000s, MELE was named one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the Washington, D.C. metro area and the nation. Eli eventually left MELE, with Mel taking the helm after retiring from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral.
Under his watch, MELE has significantly expanded the company’s contract portfolio and grown to more than 300 staff across 30 U.S. states.
Today, MELE remains a vibrant, financially stable, and steadily growing organization.
