What is your role at MELE and what was your career path prior to joining the company?
I currently work as a Deputy Vice President at MELE. I manage a portfolio of Department of Energy/NNSA contracts. I am also actively engaged in business development, meeting with companies to identify areas of synergy and potential collaboration on targeted initiatives to support federal agencies.
Prior to joining MELE, I served as a Program Manager overseeing a portfolio of Department of Defense (DoD) contracts in South Korea, supporting U.S. Forces Korea (USFK), the 18th Medical Command (MEDCOM), and the 8th Army. I did a lot of traveling from DC to South Korea throughout the year.
What is your favorite part of working at MELE?
My favorite part of working at MELE is the incredible team I collaborate with each day, along with the strong sense of family that defines the company culture.
What was the last excellent movie you saw in the theater, and why did you enjoy it?
The Wild Robot was the last great movie I saw in the theater because of its excellent animation, heartfelt storytelling, and deep themes about nature, survival, and connection. I enjoyed watching this with my family. I honestly thought I was going to have 2+ hours to have a nice nap in the theater but ended up enjoying the film with the family.
Tell us a bit about where you grew up and what your childhood hometown was like.
I was born and raised in the DMV area and have lived here my whole life. I love the rich diversity and vibrant culture that make this region so unique and dynamic.
What is something about you that might surprise your colleagues?
I used to be an avid powerlifter and even competed in some competitions—basically, I lifted heavy things for fun. These days, I still enjoy powerlifting, but now my number one goal is to lift without immediately regretting it the next morning!
