Army Acquisitions Support Center

U.S. Army Acquisitions Support Center (USAASC) is a Direct Reporting Unit under the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Logistics, and Technology. ASC serves the entire Army acquisition, logistics, and technology (AL&T) workforce, a force that has grown to over 55,000 military and civilians.

The USAASC director also serves as the Deputy Director for Acquisition Career Management. As a multi-function agency, ASC’s initiatives are to:

  • Provide oversight of the AAC and the AL&T Workforce.
  • Communicate mission and vision of the AAC.
  • Provide Major Command (MACOM)-level support to Program Executive Offices in resource management, human resource management and force structure.
  • Plan, program and oversee/execute career management activities for the AL&T Workforce (e.g., policies, training, opportunities, etc.).
  • Provide to the Army Acquisition Executive, Director of Acquisition Career Management, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) staff and the Army acquisition community policy, guidance, and support and services regarding acquisition issues and initiatives.
  • MELE Associates provides financial and resource management support directly to Ms. Sarah Fidd, Chief, Resource Management Division (Ft. Belvoir). The MELE team supports the ASC mission to:
  • Plan, program, formulate, allocates, administer and review the use of Acquisition Support Center resources to include both financial and manpower programs necessary to execute the Army Acquisition Executive’s mission.
  • Serve as principal advisor to the Program Executive Offices (PEO), the ASC staff and other ASC TDA elements on finance, manpower, resource and management matters.
  • Consolidate Operation & Maintenance, Army (OMA) requirements for PEOs/PMs.
  • Build resource requirements and present, justify and defend the resources to the Program Evaluation Groups (PEGs) in HQDA.
  • Ensure proper methods of execution, attains allotments within funding limitations set forth, and recommends reprogramming when necessary.
  • Plan, program, formulate, allocates, administer and review the use of Acquisition Support Center resources to include both financial and manpower programs necessary to execute the Army Acquisition Executive’s mission.
