Happy 246th Birthday, Navy!

Officially created on October 13, 1775, and known as the Continental Navy, the original purpose of the U.S. Navy was to intercept ships sent to resupply British Army troops at or near the colonies.  In the last 246 years the Navy’s purpose and duties have expanded along with its capabilities and mission.

MELE has spent over 20 years supporting the Navy mission and holds a current Navy SeaPort-Next Generation (NxG) IDIQ Contract Vehicle. We even have Navy in our blood – our CEO spent thirty-two years in the Navy and Naval Reserve as a Civil Engineer Corps Officer including six years as a Rear Admiral.
