Happy Juneteenth!

Today we observe Juneteenth – the holiday commemorating African American freedom and the end of slavery in the United States.

Celebrated on the anniversary of the order proclaiming freedom for all slaves in the state of Texas issued by Major General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, communities have been celebrating Juneteenth since 1866 and the federal government officially declaring it a holiday in 2021.  A celebration for all Americans.
