MELE Associates, Inc - Defense Department - Telehealth - Synopsis

Goal:  Develop Telehealth projects for a joint DoD/VA effort to illustrate hands-on methods of improving healthcare including:

MELE provided program management support and pioneered development of Open Source Vista for the Hui which was formed in 1999 with support from Senator Daniel Inouye. A subsidiary of the Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center under the Army Medical Research & Materiel Command, Hui facilitates interdisciplinary research partnerships with government, academia and industry to advance development of emerging technologies and improve health care for beneficiaries in the Pacific region.

 

Working in concert with the VA's technology transfer initiative, MELE Associates has developed an Application Service Provider (ASP) model to provide the Open Source Vista electronic health record system economically to physicians' offices, clinics and hospitals.  For more information visit www.vistaasp.com.
