MELE Associates, Inc - Air Force - Knowledge Management & Integration - Overview

Overview: MELE provided support to SAF/IE which included a three-phase study to better integrate installation, logistics, and environment functionality. The Phase I developed an overall strategic framework. In Phase II the framework developed in Phase I served as the basis to develop a modernized logistics strategy. During Phase III the modernized logistics strategy provided the basis for a unified installation, environment, and logistics strategy.

MELE Associates provided a full range of knowledge management and technical support to SAF/IEE and SAF/IE (Installations & Environment) programs and projects including strategic planning, research, web support, information technology and analysis. MELE Associates has worked closely with SAF/IEE staff to understand business requirements and tailor a MELE tool built in ColdFusion utilizing a SQL database to track the SAF/IEE strategic plan.

MELE Associates also provided a full range of policy, research, and white paper development to support SAF/IEE and SAF/IE. Recent projects include the development of a strategic plan for SAF/IE.

The strategic plan work included extensive research to ascertain the foundation documents and policies that underlie the mission of this division of HQAF, facilitation of general officer meetings on key issues such as encroachment, support to SAF to carry out the mandates of the Defense Environmental Workers Safety Demonstration Program and the Voluntary Protection Program, and revising the NATO environmental handbook.
