MELE Associates, Inc - USDA - Risk Management Agency - Synopsis

The primary responsibility of the U.S Department of Agriculture Risk Management Agency (USDA RMA) is to administer the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation Program (FCIC). The FCIC Program is expected to provide over $37 billion in risk protection on about 208 million insured acres in 2003.

The role of RMA has been transformed over the past few years as a result of a rapidly expanding awareness of and demands for, agricultural risk management tools. Significant reforms to the program were enacted in the Agricultural Risk Protection Act of 2000 (ARPA).

MELE Associates is worked with RMA to support improvement of the major business processes within RMA and its field offices, with focus on the processes that drive the development of new risk management products with FCIC and its various partners, as well as Reinsurance, Product Development, Compliance, and administrative processes. Our professional staff provided the FCIC CEO/Administrator with an integrated solution comprised of improved business processes, enhanced technologies, and focused communications including models that both provide a focal point for identifying areas where additional information is needed or gaps in service exist, as well as provide a means to analyze proposed changes to processes within the FCIC.
