Alexander Causey

Alexander “Sandy” Causey joined MELE as Vice President of Construction Management in Hawaii. In addition to being responsible for providing engineering and construction management services to clients throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Rim, he is responsible for business development.

Currently he provides direct oversight for MELE on the new $2million construction management projects for the City and County of Honolulu, called HPOWER. The tasks include demolishing existing structures, and installing new ones.

Sandy brings more than 30 years of experience in heavy industrial construction, petrochemical, process, power plant, waste water treatment plant and real estate development to MELE. He has lived in Hawaii for over 20 years and has developed a network of customers and contacts during his residency.

Sandy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, in the United Kingdom and his Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Additionally, he is a registered Professional Engineer and Licensed Contractor in the state of Hawaii.

Sandy was born and raised in the United Kingdom and is very interested in his Scottish heritage. Sandy is short for Alexander in Scotland. Among the Scottish interests, he says he enjoys “frightening his neighbors with his bagpipes,” golfing and single malts. Additionally, Sandy enjoys all water activities and is a licensed SCUBA instructor.
