Steven Kadner
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President for MELE Associates, Steven Kadner exercises a broad range of business development, operations management and customer relations duties.
Mr. Kadner has more than 30 years experience in engineering management operations, directed research, development, policy, and manufacturing efforts in international safeguards containment, surveillance and non-destructive assay technologies. He has also managed and developed international trade opportunities. Mr. Kadner received an International Nuclear Materials Management (INMM) Industry award in 1999. In 2004, he led Canberra Albuquerque to take on the challenge of becoming a "high rate" manufacturer producing Improvised Explosive Device Countermeasures Equipment (ICE) for U.S. Army and Marine Forces.
Prior to joining the senior management team at MELE Associates, Mr. Kadner Served as both Vice President for the Military and Nonproliferation Business Line of Canberra Industries, Inc. and as President of Canberra Albuquerque, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary). In these capacities, he was responsibile for all aspects of military and safeguards product and services lines, while also directing logistics for worldwide safeguards product, support and services, managed the company's activities at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), directed participation in U.S.-sponsored Nonproliferation Programs in the Former Soviet Union, and he has also served as Homeland Security Strategy Manager.
Upon graduation from New York University with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Kadner worked at White Sands Missile Range, NM and at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ as a Department of Army Civilian Employee. After leaving White Sands, he launched a chain of retail computer stores in the Southwest and consulted at Ft. Bliss, TX in designing Hawk and Patriot simulation systems. He is the author of several publications and presentations on nuclear materials management, nonproliferation, and design standards. Mr. Kadner currently resides in Albuquerque, NM.
