Defense Department - DPAS - OverviewOverview: The DPAS application provides property management logistical support to much of the military. The office which manages the software wanted to revise their website for greater ease of use and flexibility for increasing content. They wanted to reach out to managers and other parties who need information on the application, but who do not necessarily use the application themselves.
MELE worked with the Property, Plant and Equipment Policy Office, program managers, senior developers and software staff to reorganize the layout and site navigation. MELE’s contribution helped to:
- Define additional target audiences
- Recommend information types for development
- Interviewed site users
- Employed survey materials to assist in the redesign effort.
The result is a newly structured site with the focus on the user, with navigational elements intended to reach wider audiences, while assisting current users in finding information more efficiently.
