NNSA - Administrative Operations
Goal: Wide-range administrative and operational support especially during reorganizations and reassignments.
MELE experts provide a variety of support functions in a classified environment including:
- Document management
- Classified records management
- Program analysis
- Global travel coordination
- Financial analysis
- Security documentation
Overview: Since 1998, the Task Orders under this NNSA Administrative Support Contract, with a contract size of over $13M, have been providing a wide range of administrative and operational support during reorganizations and reassignments. MELE staff provided outstanding performance and assistance during each modification to keep consistency and stability in those key administrative functions necessary for smooth and uninterrupted operations in a large organization such as NNSA.
Document Tracking: A primary responsibility of MELE employees at NNSA was to maintain the document tracking system and procedures of multiple staff members, distribution of documents often to dozens of persons, and creating and formatting documents for presentation to high-level Congressional members, key decision makers at NNSA and other stakeholders.
Regular production of lengthy reports required effective document management procedures to produce quality materials under short deadlines and critical scrutiny. Our staff also produced brochures, program information sheets, organizational charts, wall charts, milestone charts, graphics, presentations, spreadsheets and tables.
Travel Documentation: MELE staff handled travel functions for NNSA and DOE lab personnel, senior NNSA managers and contractor employees, traveling to multiple locations in the U.S. and abroad. Since planning and scheduling for international travel in a secure environment is logistically complex, support includes providing coordination and assistance for passports, visas, customs documents, letters of invitation, country clearance information, travel authorizations and vouchers. Reports were generated and analyzed for decision makers on when, where and who completed travel for authorized business transactions. Three travel systems were managed:
- TIS, the NNSA travel information system
- FTMS, a foreign travel management system used for DOE-wide personnel at labs, Federal employees, and contractor employees
- Travel Manager, an accounting system for travel of Federal employees
