USDA - APHIS Project - Synopsis

MELE Associates, Inc. provided support services to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS), USDA.

MELE worked with APHIS to:

• Convert 200-300 existing instructional videos to digital format at the Riverdale, MD, APHIS facility that will be used to educate stakeholders in controlling animal and plant diseases such as Exotic Newcastle Disease (END), a virus affecting domestic birds.
  
  
• Extend research, logistics, training and media services to assist in focusing resources and education on END.

MELE staff on the effort was primarily based in Washington, D.C., but accompanied APHIS staff to California in relation to END outbreaks on the West Coast.
