MELE Associates has teamed up with Cadmus Group, Inc. to provide practical policy solutions as well as regulatory strategies to encourage the use of Energy Star® standards in HUD housing.

The MELE Team takes its understanding of the latest energy-efficient technologies and Energy Star for Buildings, Products and Homes from work at the US Dept. of Energy and the EPA and brings that expertise to HUD. Our team is performing engineering research, cost-benefit analysis, testing and design analysis, policy and regulatory analysis In support of a project to identify the potential for adopting the Energy Star label as an energy-efficiency benchmark in HUD-financed or insured new single-family or 1-4 unit homes through HUD’s HOPE VI, the HOME program, or the FHA 203(b) single family mortgage insurance program.
