Emergency CommunicationsThe ICON (Integrated Command, Control, Communications, Computers – Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Operations Node) Integration Team led by MELE Associates has gathered a carefully selected and uniquely qualified team to develop the capabilities for integrating various communications and information technology payloads into a series of platforms including airframes, ships, land vehicles and fixed ground locations. The integration capabilities would serve to maintain communications in areas where the existing communications infrastructure is disrupted by natural or man-made disasters.
The ICON Integration Team possesses the required technical knowledge in system engineering, aviation mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, radio frequency engineering, security engineering, logistics engineering, and installation and testing. The Team has depth of experience in designing and planning network and communications, including Tactical Data Links (TDLs) fielding in remote theaters of operations in support of Warfighter operations. ICON's Engineering Team is comprised of several specialized engineers with expertise in developing designs, specifications, and drawings; fabricating or procuring integration components; installing payloads in host platforms; integrating payloads with host power, cooling, and associated systems; and optimizing antenna performance through configuration and placement.
Through our PMO in Newport News, VA the ICON Integration Team has already begun work on the first integrated platform by modifying airframes to accommodate multi-mission payloads.
